Housing Update 4/19

So I called Harbor Bay again today...they said they should have found out by today whether or not we get the house on Savana. But Libby was not there and so I left a message and hopefully she'll call me back tomorrow to let me know.

Cece and her crew checked out the house on Ironwood today with Harbor Bay...but Amy has also been keeping in contact with the actual owner. By what Amy tells me, it sounds like we have a good shot at getting Ironwood...but because of the price ($2400) we will have to have 6 people living there...which means that the other house will be 4 people...with the ways things are split up right now:
Group 1: Amy, Dora, Sheri, Cece, Irene, Azusa
Group 2: Ariana, Linda, Sue, Jackie
This doesn't work too well because Group 1 has all the income and Group 2 has virtually none (underline = good income, italics = decent income...if you don't have gmail i don't know if you can see edit)...haha...and so far I haven't heard anything about anybody new getting jobs.
Let's see what happens...if we even get a house...but eventually we'll have to move some people around. Can we meet VERY BRIEFLY after SK2 this Sunday to work something out?

For now we're just going to have the 6 people in group 1 apply for Ironwood (i'll be sending you the applications in another email). Amy's been talking with the owner and he seems pretty chill so she doesn't think it'll matter too much to him which 6 actually finally live there, just so long as we get approved for 6 and we can keep up payments.

If we do get Ironwood, I'd like to try negotiating the rent since the washer and dryer don't come with the place and we'd have to get it ourselves. so if we can bring it down by like 50 -100 it would make it a lot nicer.

HI everyone,

So we visited the houses, I tried posting them on YouTube, and 6 of them are on there, but the account is acting up. there are 3 more videos we can't upload because they're too big - so we have to show them at our short meeting after SK2. Stick around for that.

House #13 - 818 Ironwood Rd.

- Owner seriously did leave a key under the mat, as he instructed to Amy - he seems really chill if he would be willing to put his house in danger like that! We generally liked it, if anyone has ever been to Sarah Choi or Emily or Susan Walnut's house - it is almost the same layout, but reversed.

- Pros: MARBLE countertops, Hardwood Floors, Nice new Berber carpet (the stiffer carpet that is thicker and has a pattern to it), new sink, good refridgerator. It has been redone and more modern in that way. Super close to leaders/staff. there's a tiny deck with the master bedroom

- Cons: NO WASHER AND DRYER, TINY backyard, not the most attractive front door, kinda tucked in the back of this place. Master bedroom only had 1 sink, usually should have 2. Master bedroom has this funky built in shelf thing along the wall - allows for a lot of storage, but not attractive and makes it hard to put multiple beds in the room, but it still works.

House #14 - 247 Bannister Court

Pros: Much larger, really crazy living room that has a wall in between that connects to the family room - the fireplace is double-sided into these two rooms, has a dining room area. Dishwasher is CRAZY NEW, Really pretty and well done backyard, not super large. Loft view from second floor, very high ceilings. Garage COMES with awesome cabinets and shelf space (very tall shoe racks!)

Cons: kind of tucked in this little culdesac, sharing driveway space with like 3 other houses, because of the living room/family room split, a little smaller feeling, and it has an entertainment area ETCHED into the wall..which sucks, since we don't care for TVs, Old microwave and stove...pretty old, fridge isn't that new, kitchen shelves have these weird wired built in compartments, it actually kills some space. One bedroom has this BUILT IN desk, bookshelf, and matching shelves and drawers IN the closet - this can be good and bad, it is built more for one person, but it is really really nice

I think our vote is actually for IRONWOOD.

P.S. Whatever happened to Brown St., House #9 or something on Dora's Youtube...
